How to maintain old furniture
Old furniture is all solid wood furniture made of mortise and tenon structure. The outside hot wax is used to decorate and maintain furniture. Therefore, the performance of wood and hot wax determines the maintenance request for the maintenance of old furniture.
Try not to place old furniture in a position that can be directly exposed to sunlight. The wood is affected by the sun's ultraviolet rays and fades (especially large-leaf red sandalwood) and falls; stay away from air conditioners and heaters. Several pots of flowers or fish tanks should be placed in rooms equipped with air-conditioned rooms to maintain indoor humidity and prevent moisture from being absorbed from old furniture.
When putting items on old furniture, you should apply a layer of soft film and place them lightly in vertical direction to avoid damaging the appearance of old furniture. If the appearance of old furniture shows scratches, you should find a professional to repair it in time.
1. Avoid long-term exposure of sunlight, which can easily cause the moisture inside the wood to lose balance and cause cracks.
2. Maintain good humidity, the ideal humidity is about 40%. If you use air conditioning for a long time, you can put a basin of water next to it.
3. The temperature difference should not be too large to avoid turning on and off the air conditioner, causing severe temperature changes.
4. Avoid placing overheated items directly on the table, which will damage the protective paint and wax on the surface.
5. Use a soft cotton cloth or soft bristle brush to wipe, avoid using metal brushes, hard bristle brushes or rough cloth.
6. When waxing is once every three months, the wax should not be too dense, otherwise it will clog the pores of the wood.
7. Avoid bumps and scratches of hard objects, especially reminding children at home.
