The causes and diagnosis points of rabies

Rabies is caused by rabies virus. Dogs, cats and carnivores are prone to infection and can be transmitted to humans. Sick dogs mainly show mania and anxiety and disordered consciousness, attack humans and animals, and eventually suffer from paralysis and death, so they are also called mad dog disease. There is currently no effective treatment for rabies, with a mortality rate of 100%.

1. The causes of rabies:

1. Rabies virus mainly exists in the brain tissue and spinal cord of sick dogs. There are also a large amount of viruses in the salivary glands and saliva of sick dogs, and they are excreted out of the body with the saliva.

2. The sick dog may contain viruses 10 to 15 days before clinical symptoms occur, and within 6 to 7 months after the symptoms disappear. Therefore, when the animal is bitten by the sick animal, it may become infected and become ill.

3. Some dogs and cats with healthy appearance may also contain viruses in their saliva. When they lick people or other animals, or live with people, they can also cause infection and disease.

4. Many wild animals, such as wolves, foxes, deer, bats, etc., can not only cause illness and die, but also expand transmission. For example, some species of bats (African vampire bats) often attack humans and animals after being infected with rabies virus, causing them to become infected and become ill.

5. Air contaminated by respiratory secretions and urine can also cause respiratory infections between humans and animals. Wild animals may be infected through the digestive tract by eating sick corpses.

2. Key points of diagnosis of rabies:

This disease usually occurs in sporadic form, that is, the number of single cases occurs, and most of them have a history of being bitten by mad animals. Generally, there are more diseases in spring and summer, which is related to dog sexual activities. The clinical characteristics of rabies are as follows:

1. At the beginning of the disease, the main manifestation of depression and abnormal behavior. If you do not listen to the call, like to hide in the dark, you will have different odors, and you will like to eat gravel, wood, soil and other objects. The sick dog often licks and bites the wound with his tongue.

2. Then it develops into violent and uneasy, attacking people and animals, and often running around aimlessly. The diseased dog gradually loses weight, his jaw drops, and his tail drops and is sandwiched between the two hind limbs. Hoarse voice, increased saliva, and difficulty swallowing.

3. Later, the sick dog developed paralysis symptoms, difficulty walking, and eventually general failure.

III. Preventive measures for rabies:

1. There is currently no effective treatment for rabies, and the mortality rate is 100%.

2. After a sick dog is found, it should be sent to the veterinary station or health center for treatment. After being bitten or scratched by a sick dog or cat, you should go to the hospital for treatment in time. 3. Vaccination should be carried out regularly. Currently, there are two types of rabies vaccines produced in my country, namely rabies vaccine and lyophilized rabies aptivitis. Rabies is a legally contagious disease of humans and animals in our government, and the vaccination prevention of this disease should be taken seriously.
