Cucurella: Neto is destined to score a goal when he appears, so he pays tribute to Jota

Cucurelia told Pedro Neto that he believed that the goal in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup against Palmeiras was "destined", in order to pay tribute to Diogo Jota.

Due to the death of his national teammate, Chelsea handed over the decision to play to Pedro Neto.

Kukurelia told reporters: "He was very sad in the morning and was in poor form. But we tried to unite together, and he was a little better in the afternoon."

"I told him that if he played, he would definitely score a goal, because it was destined. I hope we can show our love for him, prove that we are true friends, and give the goal to Jota."

"This is a difficult time. We extend all our love to Jota's family, wife and children. This intention comes from myself, the entire Chelsea lineup and football. At this moment, football is not important, the most important thing is to show respect and all our love."

"I woke up and learned it immediately. It's hard because this can happen to anyone at any time. You'll start thinking: If you're in a bad state, don't have 100% commitment, or feel pain when you encounter this kind of thing. It's important to be happy and live every day."

When asked if Pedro Neto will play against Palmeiras, Cucurella said: "I think it will. It requires the head coach and him to decide together, but Pedro Neto's feelings are the most important."

"Football is secondary, tomorrow will be a long day, no matter what decision he makes is right. But now he's in good shape, I think Pedro Neto can help us in this game."
