Official: David Hopkinson is appointed as New CEO of Newcastle
David Hopkinson will officially join the club on September 5 local time and will conduct a comprehensive work handover with the support of former CEO Darren Eals, who resigned as the club's CEO due to health problems. With over 25 years of senior management experience and extensive business expertise, David Hopkinson has served in three countries and has produced fruitful results for some of the world's most iconic and valuable sports organizations.
Before joining Newcastle, David Hopkinson served as president and CEO of Madison Square Garden Sports Company, leading the operations of the New York Knicks and the New York Rangers. The above two teams are one of the most valuable teams in the NBA and NHL, and play in the world-famous Madison Square Garden in Newcastle.
Previously, David Hopkinson served as head of Real Madrid's global partnerships, helping the team consolidate its position as one of the world's most valuable football clubs.
Earlier, David Hopkinson also served as CCO for Maple Leaf Sports Entertainment for more than 20 years, overseeing the business activities of the NHL Toronto Maple Leaf and the NBA Toronto Raptors.
