On the fifth anniversary of the death of Manchester United legend Stiles, Manchester United's official social media wrote: "A giant in our history, we cherish the memory of Manchester United legend Stiles, who passed away five years ago today."
Stiles served as a defensive midfielder during his playing days. He played for the Manchester United first team from 1960 to 1971, playing 391 games with 18 goals and 24 assists. He won 6 championship trophies with the team. He was also a member of the England team's 1966 World Cup champion.
After retiring, Stiles took up a coaching position and served as the coach of the youth teams of Preston, West Brom, and Manchester United. He passed away on October 30, 2020, at the age of 78.
