Richards: Dauman needs playing time to grow, Arsenal should consider loaning him out

Manchester City legend Richards was a guest on The Rest is Football podcast recently. He believed that Arsenal should rent out the talented youngster Dauman.

Richards said: "Dauman is special, isn't he? He is really special. I think what makes him different is that usually when you are promoted to the first team at 15-16 years old, it is because of physical maturity. But he is not, he is technically mature, which shows that he will become an extraordinary player."

"He just has. With the window period from 16 to 18 years old, you need to maintain the same development speed. Dauman must get game time, because you can't play 30 minutes one game and 90 minutes next game, because other people may develop faster than you."

"Maybe he needs to go out for training, I know it may be too early, I don't think he 1. He can be rented out at the age of 5, and he will not get stable playing time. Lineker, who is also a commentator, countered that Dauman will get a lot of playing time, but Richards is not convinced. He responded: "But the position he plays overlaps with Saka, so he will not get enough time."

"He can play at the 10th position, or he can. But according to Arteta's usual style, I think he will prefer to keep Saka on the field and make some defensive adjustments before letting other players come on."

"Dauman's appearance is impossible to be ranked before Saka, but in order to continue to develop, he needs to play, this is my only worry."
