For dogs with normal body temperature, master these indicators to protect their dog s health. What is the body temperature and heartbeat?
The body temperature of dogs is the same as that of humans. There are indicators to determine whether the heartbeat and the number of heartbeats are normal, which is conducive to monitoring and adjusting the physical effects of dogs. It is crucial to master relevant knowledge as a responsible master.
Dog body temperature is generally measured using a thermometer, and a rectal thermometer is the most accurate tool to measure dog body temperature. Doctors occasionally use ear thermometers to measure dogs’ body temperature, but they are not as accurate as rectal thermometers.
Body temperature is important for dog health. If the dog's body temperature is low, blood in the body may not flow into all parts of the body. If your body temperature is too high, it may cause damage to the internal organs, which is also called a fever. Both extreme body temperature abnormalities are fatal to dogs. If the dog has abnormal body temperature, it may feel dizzy and has decreased attention. If the temperature is too low, the dog may tremble, and if the temperature is too high, the dog may be out of breath, which is worrying.
The dog's heartbeat is also called a pulse, which quantifies the number of heartbeats in one minute. The dog's heart pumps blood throughout the body. Their heart is located near the breast under the left armpit, and if the dog is thinner, the heartbeat can be easily felt in most parts of their body. Generally, the dog's heartbeat will be obtained within 60 seconds to obtain the heartbeat. Sometimes the heart rate is recorded for only 15 seconds, and then the number is multiplied by 4 to obtain the same reading. Veterinarians or other professionals can also use auscultation to obtain information, or experience pulses in the blood vessels on the legs or tail of the dog.
When the dog's heartbeat is below 60, it means that the heartbeat is slow; and the heartbeat is between 60 and 140 is the correct category; when the heartbeat is above 140, it means that the dog's heartbeat is fast. In small or deformed dogs, their normal heartbeat may be faster than those of larger dogs. The heartbeat of a puppy is generally between 100-140, while the heartbeat of an adult dog is between 60-100.
