【Common Knowledge】Dogs take a bath in winter
Many dog slaves bathe their dogs at home. What should we pay attention to when helping their dogs bathe in winter? Long-haired dog
When you raise long-haired dogs, such as Samoyed, Alaska, Golden Retriever, Maltese and other dog breeds, be careful to organize your tied hair first. After taking a shower, completely dry your hair.
• Before you start taking a bath, you must carefully organize your hair and remove the dust and dead hair that falls. Comb a part of the tie as much as possible. If the process of sorting out the hairs is lacking, when taking a shower and hair dryer, the uncombed hair will envelop water vapor, causing the hairs to not be completely dried, which will cause skin problems of the dog.
• After washing, you must use a cotton towel to wipe the dog's body until the hair is no longer leaking, and then use a hair dryer to completely dry it (the special water blower is stronger). Be careful not to burn the dog, and then gently tidy up the hair after drying. Dogs with more hair usually have two layers of hair, so they must be carefully blown dry completely, otherwise the hairy children will be very prone to fever and cold in winter~
Short-haired dogs When you raise short-haired dogs, such as Teddy, Schnauzer, Husky and other dogs, short-haired dogs are more afraid of the severe cold in winter than long-haired dogs. When taking a bath, you should pay special attention to adjusting the water temperature and blow dry immediately after washing. • The first thing to do is to determine the bath water temperature. The body temperature of an adult dog is 38.5℃, and the body temperature of a puppy is 39-40℃. The water temperature is best to be close to the body temperature of the human body. Too cool and over-temperature make the dog feel uncomfortable. The water temperature can be moderately higher in winter. First, add hands to try the water temperature, make sure that the water temperature is suitable, and then gradually pour it on the dog's hands to allow them to integrate it little by little. •After washing, quickly dry the dog's hair with a hair dryer. Short-haired dogs like Teddy and Schnauzer can only be fur on one side, and not blow-drying immediately can easily cause symptoms such as dogs to catch a cold, cause fever, and cold. Pay attention to maintaining a long distance when blow-drying to prevent burns from the dog when the hair dryer is too close to the hair dryer.
In addition, adjustments should be carried out based on the age and physical fitness of the dog.
If you are feeding young dogs or elderly dogs at home, it is recommended to avoid frequent bathing in winter, and ensure that they are exposed to more sunlight and improve their resistance. If the dog at home is in the following situation, you cannot take a bath immediately. • A dog who has just eaten full is not suitable for bathing. If the dog eats too much, it is best to wait until it digests and absorbs it before bathing it. Taking a bath will cause the skin capillaries to expand, and a small amount of blood will flow into the stomach at night, which is very easy for dogs to faint.
• Dogs who have just recovered from serious illness are not suitable for bathing. At this time, the dog is weak in physique and has low resistance. If the bath is not good, it is very easy to get sick again.
• Dogs who have experienced excessive exercise soon are not suitable for bathing immediately. You should wait until the dog calms down and the human limbs recover before taking a bath. • Dogs who have pre-vaccination after injections cannot take a bath immediately. Generally, there is a 7-10-day pre-seeding inspection period, and the dog can only bathe after everything is normal.
