Klopp: A player asked me why I treat people differently and I said it was because he grew up in a house without windows

Klopp was interviewed by The Diary Of A CEO and talked about managing the team.

Klopp said: I have to say, the way I treat them is about half and half: 50% of the time it is exactly the same, and the other half I adjust it according to the situation, but it is always in front of the players' other teammates.

So players will come to me: Why are you doing this to me? You would never do that to him.

(I said) Because he's from Argentina and grew up in a house with no windows, and you're from Munich and everything went smoothly. You want me to treat you the way I treat him? Seriously?

When you bring people from all over the world together, you can't expect them to all behave in the same way. This is simply impossible. Growing up in Germany is obviously different from growing up in Senegal, that's just the reality.

Klopp has coached three Argentine players, namely McAllister, Klimovic and Barrios. Although Barrios was later naturalized as a Paraguayan player, he was born in Argentina and played more than 100 times under Klopp.
