SK Hynix HBM Too Strong Q2 Two Seasons Settles Global DRAM Overlord

Global AI business has been strong, and SK Hynix, a large Korean memory manufacturer, has successfully laid out high-frequency broad memory (HBM) and quickly opened up the competition gap. Market research firm Omdia's latest report shows that in the second quarter of this year, SK Hynix once again joined the world's largest DRAM manufacturer with HBM's leading position.

According to Korean news, Omdia released its latest report on September 5. In the second quarter of 2025, the global DRAM market size expanded significantly, with a quarterly increase of 17.3% to US$30.9 billion, mainly benefiting from the global trend of generative AI, driving DRAM contract prices to continue to blow, and HBM shipment can be strong.

Among them, HBM overlord SK Hynix, the champions, DRAM sales reached US$12.2 billion in the second quarter, and its market share rose from 36.9% in the first quarter to 39.5%, and its market share rose from 36.9% in the first quarter to 39.5%. The second place was Samsung Electronics, a Korean technology giant, with DRAM sales reaching US$10.3 billion in the second quarter, and its market share dropped from 34.4% to 33.3%. The gap between the two expanded from 2.5 percentage points to 6.2 percentage points.

SK Hynix HBM has a stable position and is a big hit in AI business, and achieved a record high in profits last quarter. SK Hynix High-level previously released a video message, emphasizing that "AI orders will only increase more and more" is expected to maintain rapid growth by 2030.
