Turn from competition to cooperation? Intel contacts AMD to promote its own crystalline OEM and boost stock prices

CNBC quoted the US technology news website Semafor reporting that global semiconductor industry reports major cooperation that may modify the industry landscape. Intel, a chip manufacturer, is in talks with PC and server x86 chip rival Supermicro (AMD), to Intel finds the production of AMD chips. As soon as the news came out, the market responded with a strong response, with Intel's stock price rising by 7%, and AMD's stock price also rose by more than 1%.
Intel is extremely looking for large customers to strengthen the foundry department of the large crystal. If we can successfully compete for the main competitor AMD to become a customer, it will be a major victory for Crystal OEM. Analysts said that if Intel can acquire AMD's large customers with market influence, it will have multiple positive effects and increase investment confidence. First, large customers make Intel's foundry department more confidently investing funds and developing advanced processes. Secondly, a strong signal was issued to other chip companies, demonstrating that Intel's manufacturing capabilities are sufficient to handle the responsibilities and strengthen its position as a reliable foundry partner.
Intel executive chairman Chen Liwu led the company to try to convert the operation. In the past few weeks, the market has increased its confidence in Intel, as it has successfully attracted several heavyweight investors, such as the US government, NVIDIA and Softbank, and the outside world has interpreted the vote of confidence for Intel's trial transformation. Although NVIDIA is a new investor, it has not promised to adopt Intel's crystalline foundry. However, the confidence of investors has increased, Intel's stock price has performed strongly, with the accumulated stock price so far this year and has increased by nearly 77%.
Intel and AMD have been in fierce competition in the PC and server chip fields of x86 architecture for a long time. If AMD finally decides to hand over part of the manufacturing business to Intel, this will be a highly symbolic decision. Because this decision will send out a clear message, that is, AMD is confident in chip manufacturing business with its biggest rivals. In particular, this is not only about production capacity, but also involves highly sensitive technology and business secrets.
At present, AMD mainly relies on TECHNOLOGY. According to Semafor, it is not clear how much AMD will ultimately decide to commission for Intel. Neither Intel nor AMD commented on this news. Intel representatives declined to comment. The AMD spokesperson said he did not comment or guess.
