According to The Athletic, a man has been charged with attempted murder in France for attacking former Chelsea youth player Jan Guillot.
Jan Guillot played for Chelsea from 2009 to 2011, and also played for Lille and Nantes. He was seriously injured in a knife attack while with friends in Choisy-le-Roy, a suburb southeast of Paris.
Yan Gao, 31, has been receiving treatment in hospital since the incident that occurred on November 9 and 10 and is still in the intensive care unit.
The Creteil Prosecutor's Office confirmed that a judicial investigation was launched on November 12, and a man was charged with attempted murder and participation in gang violence. A woman has also been charged with gang violence and has been placed on the witness protection list on suspicion of attempted murder. Both men have been remanded in custody.

However, Jan Gaio never played in a professional game and his career ended abruptly due to a series of off-field issues.

His mother Anne-Marie said: "We are going through extremely difficult days. Jan Gaio agreed to undergo a very painful treatment that made him extremely weak. In order not to harm himself or others, he accepted that he could only have less than 10% of his life. Physical function. This is a huge blow to him, considering everything he was able to do before. "Today, we have confidence in the justice system to find out how such a tragedy happened and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice."
