Elan Dian AI Smart Park Headquarters Building is on beam! Ye Yihao plans to ship drones in the first half of next year

Elan Dian held a ceremony to raise the beam of the AI Smart Park Headquarters building today. Chairman Ye Yihao said that Elan Dian has invested in AI research and development for more than 6 years. This year, AI-related products accounted for 5% of revenue, and are expected to double to 10% next year, including smart transportation, ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems), and drones, of which drones are striving to be shipped in the first half of next year.

Ye Yihao said that the Elandian AI Smart Park Headquarters Building is located in the Hsinchu County AI Smart Park. It has 18 floors above ground and 4 floors of underground parking. It is located at the gateway of Zhubei with convenient transportation and development potential. It is looking for AI partners to build a high-efficiency base that combines R&D, innovation and smart applications.

Ye Yihui pointed out that Elan Electronics proposed "Dual Transformation through AI" in 2018 to AI-enable existing NB notebook products. The edge computing AI-assisted notebook touch panel for disabled people and the AI-empowered industrial computer touch solution that won the gold medal at this year's Taipei Compute Show are representative works of AI-enabled existing products.

Looking forward to operations, Ye Yihui pointed out that notebook products are still the main source of revenue for Elan Electronics. The penetration rate of AI PC is about 30% this year and is expected to increase to 50% next year. There is still room for growth in the field of human-machine interface and AI input devices in the future. AI-related products account for 5% of revenue this year and is expected to double to 10% next year. It will strive to ship drones in the first half of next year.

Ye Yihui explained that Elan Electronics cooperated with the Institute of Information Technology of Academia Sinica team to successively develop the world's fastest and most accurate AI image recognition algorithm YOLOv4/R/7/9, and later developed a low-computing power AI image recognition algorithm "GElanNet" series that is more suitable for edge computing and terminal devices, significantly reducing costs and power consumption, and has been introduced into applications such as AI CCTV in smart transportation and automotive ADAS.

Ye Yihui added that new AI applications are mainly in the field of visual judgment, using camera lenses to capture images, and continue to use device-side AI technology to develop ADAS Level 2+ systems, such as active distance maintenance system (ACC), automatic emergency braking system (AEB), automatic lane change assist system (ALCA) and driving disability emergency lane change and roadside parking system (ALKS).

Ye Yihao emphasized that the smart cockpit has an AI driving monitoring system (DMS). Elan uses the multi-lens AI image recognition technology accumulated in ADAS for many years to introduce the AI object detection and tracking system of the drone gimbal and the AI 360-degree automatic obstacle avoidance system. The application range of AI image recognition is extremely wide. In areas involving visual needs, it will be used to develop the application of robots and unmanned vehicles in the future.
